2017 BioIT World Best Practice Award

Allotrope Foundation was excited to receive the 2017 BioIT World Best Practice Award in Knowledge Management earlier this year.

The Bio-IT World Best Practices Awards were created to “not only elevate the critical role of information technology in modern biomedical research, but also to highlight platforms and strategies that could be widely shared across the industry to improve the quality, pace, and reach of science.” We’re honored to have the efforts and progress of the Foundation recognized in this community.

This is a culmination of a consummate team effort across Allotrope Foundation members, our partners at Drinker Biddle & Reath and Osthus, the expanding Allotrope Partner Network (APN), and significant independent efforts as well. The work that has leveraged collaborations across the Allotrope community could not have been accomplished by any one company- particularly through the phases of R&D, proofs-of-concept work, the refinement of the core Allotrope Framework concepts, and the ongoing work in ontology development. It’s the combination of this core community and Framework at the center of the Foundation, coupled with the growing network of projects and collaborations that has led to the successful development and deployment of a wide range of solutions that exemplify some real breakthroughs. Be sure to see the Resources page for cases studies, presentation and videos covering some of there examples.
